We’re headed out to Seattle in about a week to start working on our new LP, but in the meantime here’s a new cover we recorded, free to download… enjoy!

We’re excited to announce we’ll be heading out to Seattle in January to cut a new All The Real Girls record with John Goodmanson, who’s made records with some of our favorite bands: Death Cab For Cutie, Nada Surf, Sleater-Kinney, Eisley… we’ll be making updates as the record progresses and we’ll have some exciting announcements about it’s release and all kinds of other stuff soon.  Stay tuned!

We just got word that our new film “Lost on Purpose”, which we wrote the music for and features our singer’s classically trained method acting stylings, will be premiering at the Hollywood Film Festival, at the Arclight cinemas in Hollywood, October 19, 20, 21. We don’t have our screening date and time yet, but we’ll keep you posted!

Here’s a video for a song from our brand new, self-titled LP:

After a busy year, we’re excited to finally have some time now to begin writing material for a couple upcoming recording projects, including a new full-length LP.  Stay tuned for updates as we get going.  Our latest two records are still free to download!

I spent this past summer acting in and recording music for an independent film, “Lost On Purpose.” The film is about five young California dairy workers, struggling with both the uncertainty of their pending adulthood as well as the uncertain future of their bankrupt farm. The ensemble cast includes Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle), James Lafferty (One Tree Hill), Aaron Hill (Greek), C. Thomas Howell (The Outsiders), Dale Dickey (Winter’s Bone) and Octavia Spencer (The Help).

I played one of the farmhands, a struggling musician who finds himself staring down sudden and unexpected success. All The Real Girls wrote a ton of music for the project and my character performs a number of these songs throughout the film.

The film is wrapping up post-production and will be hitting the festival circuit soon! Check out the Lost On Purpose website for updates.

We’re happy to announce the release of our new EP, “Tinsel Town” which is available to download for free: http://alltherealgirls.bandcamp.com/

The songs were inspired and written for the independent film, Lost on Purpose. In an attempt to capture the themes of the story, the excitement and terror of leaving home and finding your place in the world, the band moved into an old textile mill on the river border of New Hampshire and Maine. With mere fragments of songs and very little rehearsal, the album was tracked completely live, with influences ranging from Wilco to Bright Eyes, from The Band to Bob Dylan.

The resulting soundtrack EP, Tinsel Town, is about growing up and stumbling along the way. Though the songs themselves explore camaraderie and confidence, the recording feels loose — complementing the loneliness and confusion the sparse arrangements embody.

“The album convincingly feels like the register of one lonely dude, but with a broad range of instrumentation and moments of real vulnerability.”
The Portland Phoenix

“The music provides understanding of a younger generation’s confidence and optimism, but also of the occasional misguided direction and confusion they experience. Haunting truth and beauty are really all we can ask for in a song.”
Sun209: The Americana Music Journal

“…a pleasing, sparse and simple sound which stays just on the right side of earnest-ness.”
The Music Slut
